Panic! You’ve been FreshlyPressed!

The Scene: Jessica’s house | 7:30pm | Monday evening

Jessica sits not-so-calmly watching the Olympics (Laura Trott during the women’s omnium to be specific – that sprint was amazing! It kept looking like she would be eliminated! Omnium is the coolest event you have not been watching …)

7:51 | Jessica hears a “ping” on her blackberry. It is a mail from WordPress.com. Her piece on coffee table books has just been selected to be featured on FreshlyPressed {for those that do not know what this is, it is a daily selection of blog pieces WP thinks deserve a read}.

7:52 | Jessica collapses into a fit of happy giggles.

7:53 | Jessica panics as she realizes hundreds more people will suddenly be looking at her blog.

7:54 | Jessica realizes her blog is certainly full of typos!!

7:55 | Jessica realizes her blog doesn’t look exactly the way she wants it to!!

7:56 | Jessica notes that her hair looked pretty crazy in that post about the ferry ride a few weeks ago… hundreds of people will not want to see that!!

7:57 | Jessica calls voice of sanity, D, to calm her down and share the good news.  He says such nice things, she blushes and realizes she is being ridiculous. Her face hurts from smiling. He  deserves credit for some of the pictures you see on the blog.

7:58 | Jessica decides she is absolutely thrilled to have been FreshlyPressed and looks forward to meeting all her new readers.

7:59 | Jessica decides she’s just going to edit the blog “a little bit” and fix some things she’s been meaning to change.

[…] fast forward

2:00am| … Jessica finally stops editing and falls asleep, happily dreaming of the next blogs she plans to post, including this one.

[…] fast forward
